EMEA – Economics of the Middle East

Despite their great potential, economies in the MENA region suffer from significant income differences, high unemployment, lacking economic diversification, low industrial productivity and a private sector characterised by weak development. At the same time, the young and increasingly well-trained population of the MENA region offers a great opportunity for economic development.

EMEA analyses central topics in economics as well as specific characteristics of MENA economies. Three specialisation tracks – ‘Institutional Economics’, ‘Finance & Accounting’, or ‘Management’ – allow students to acquire the knowledge for a career as economic or business professional with in-depth knowledge of the MENA economies.
